Tragically, there may not be a more instantly, but posthumously, successful band than the ska punk trio from California called Sublime. Sublime T-shirts, hats, hoodies and other Sublime merchandise helps to pay homage to an incredibly talented band that was cut short in their prime. Since their formation in 1988, Sublime has sold 17 million albums worldwide and highly influenced popular bands such as Slightly Stoopid and the Expendables. After front man's Bradley Nowell's untimely death, the band's surviving members Eric Wilson and Bud Gaugh formed the Long Beach Dub Allstars in 1997 to help carry the torch of Sublime's signature sound.

Their first two records: 40oz to Freedom and Robbin' the Hood held moderate success for the band. With a Do-It-Yourself attitude, the album 40oz to Freedom was initially only sold at live shows of Sublime. Tees dedicated to Robbin the Hood are particular popular because although this album was a commercial failure, a cult following began to take form. The band also had formed their record label Skunk Records themselves, unheard of at the time. They relied on live show money, albums and selling Sublime merchandise to stay afloat. Die-hard fans began to form around Sublime's unique style of blended reggae, punk and ska, especially in southern California.

In 1996, Sublime released their self-titled, third album, which became a commercial megahit and has now gone five-times platinum. Unfortunately, before the release of radio hits such as "Santeria", "Doin' Time", "Wrong Way" and "What I Got", Nowell died before he could see the popularity of his music. Along with pumping Sublime's signature sound on a summer day, Sublime T-shirts, hats and sweatshirts are a great way to pay tribute to Sublime and Nowell's legacy.
